Correlation analysis results between prefrontal glutamate levels to MRS and the baseline [18F]FDG PET results (SUVpre) in ROIs. There were significant negative correlations in mGluR5 KO mice (p < 0.05) (a), while no significant correlations were observed in WT mice (b). Fisher’s Z-transformation showed significant between-group differences of correlation coefficients in the cortex (z = − 2.30 p = 0.022), striatum (z = − 2.77 p = 0.006), and whole brain (z = − 2.01 p = 0.045).
