The tumour on the left exhibits little mucin while that on the right exhibits abundant apical mucin. The average distribution volumes for these tumours are 0.92 and 0.76, respectively, representing above- and below average levels. The black scale bars in the lower-right hand corners of these plots indicates a length of 200 μm; in comparison, a PET voxel is ∼ 4 mm across. Brown regions indicate staining for pimonidazole
