(a, b, c) In sham-operated and tumour-bearing pancreata 10 min after [18F]FDOPA injection, dark blue represents the lowest radioactivity, and red represents the highest radioactivity. Black arrows highlight the tail of the pancreas, and white arrows show the locations of the tumours. (d) An image of an example of the corresponding haematoxylin and eosin-stained cryosection was taken. (e) Radioactivity measurements were corrected for the dose of injected radioactivity. Pretreatment had effect on the difference between sham-operated and tumour-bearing animals (pretreatment × group interaction effect, p < 0.05). Significant differences were detected between sham-operated and tumour-bearing animals in vehicle (asterisk, p < 0.05) and COMT + MAO-A (double asterisks, p < 0.01) pretreated pancreata.
