At follow up, Kaplan-Meier curves showing patient survival probability stratified by BSI categories. These 146 patients were again studied with bone scans after the initiation of primary hormonal treatment. In accordance with their BSI values at follow-up, these patients were stratified in three BSIcategories: BSI =0 (n =55), BSI ≤1 (n =44) and BSI >1(n =47). These three groups demonstrated significantly different 5-year survival rates of 92%, 57% and 20%, respectively (p<0.0001).
